Destination Licensed is a one-instructor driving school serving Adelaide's southern suburbs. Every lesson is taught by Karen, a qualified, DIT-approved driving instructor, in an automatic vehicle fitted with dual controls. No rotating instructors, no handovers, no starting again with someone new halfway through your learning.

Learning with a Female Instructor
Some students specifically want a female driving instructor, and there aren't many across Adelaide's southern suburbs. It matters to nervous drivers, to women returning to driving after a break, to families whose cultural or personal preference is a female instructor, and to parents booking lessons for a teenage son or daughter. If that's what you're looking for, that's what Destination Licensed is.
I'm the Director and Driving Instructor at Destination Licensed, and I teach every lesson personally.
I hold a Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training (TLI41225) and I'm a qualified Motor Vehicle Driving Instructor approved by the South Australian Department for Infrastructure and Transport.
I hold a current Working with Children Check and a National Police Check, and I’m a member of the Driver Trainers Association of South Australia (DTASA).

What that looks like in practice:
Learning to drive can be uncomfortable for a lot of people.
Lessons here are built around the System of Car Control, but the pace is set by you. If roundabouts are the thing you're avoiding, we work on roundabouts until they stop being the thing you're avoiding. If you've had a bad experience with a previous instructor or a stressful lesson with a parent, that's a normal place to start from and it isn't held against you.

THE VEHICLE
The Car You'll Learn In
Lessons take place in a 2012 Subaru Forester, automatic.
It was chosen for visibility and safety rather than for modern looks. Large windows and slim roof pillars mean you can actually see what's coming, which matters enormously when you're being taught to scan properly. It carries a maximum 5-star ANCAP safety rating, with front and side airbags, head-protecting curtain airbags, ABS, EBD and electronic stability control. A passenger-side brake pedal is fitted for instructor use if it's ever needed — and knowing it's there is usually what lets a nervous learner relax enough to drive well.
